Tuition Fees and Examination Fees to SBC Students, Maharashtra 2023-24

Brief Description:

Tuition Fees and Examination Fees to SBC Students, Maharashtra 2023-24 is an initiative of the VJNT, OBC, and SBC Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra to financially help students studying in Class 11 to Ph.D. level. The scholarship aims to create opportunities for SBC-category students to pursue higher education. The selected students will receive 100% tuition fees and exam fee reimbursement.

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • be a domicile of Maharashtra
  • belong to the SBC category
  • be studying in Class 11 to Ph.D. level in a government-approved institution
  • have taken admission in government-aided/private non-aided/private permanently non-aided courses
  • have an annual family income of less than or equal to ₹8,00,000

Note:- Students must have taken admission through the CAP process (for professional courses).

Benefits

The selected candidates will receive the following benefits:

  • If a student is admitted to a medical or dental college through the Association of Managements of Unaided Private Medical and Dental Colleges entrance examination or through a government common entrance examination, they are eligible for free tuition.
  • Freeship is also applicable to students admitted to unaided colleges, government and aided colleges with technical education, polytechnics, and government unaided professional courses.
  • Students who have been admitted through the government quota to private unaided or permanently unaided institutes are also eligible for freeship.
  • Students pursuing D.Ed or B.Ed courses are eligible for 100% tuition and exam fee reimbursement.

Note:- Students who have been admitted to Deemed University for professional courses won’t get the benefit of a scholarship/freeship.

Documents

  • Caste certificate issued by a competent authority
  • Income certificate/Income declaration issued by a competent authority
  • Caste validity certificate (for professional courses)
  • Marksheet of HSC or SSC or last examination
  • Gap certificate
  • CAP allotment letter (for professional courses)
  • Leaving certificate
  • Ration card to identify the number of children in the family
  • Declaration certificate of parents/guardians about the number of children beneficiaries
