ASSISTANTS’ GRADE EXAMINATION

The Assistants’ Grade Examination is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for Recruitment to:

• Grade IV (Assistant) of the General Cadre of the Indian Foreign Sevices (B)
• Grade II (Cypher Assistant) of Cypher Cadre of Indian Foreign Service Branch (B);
• Assistants’ Grade of  the Railway  Board  Secretariant  Service
• (i) Assistants’ Grade of the  Central  Secretariat Service

(ii) Assistants’ Grade  of   the Armed Forces  Headquarters  Civil  Service;

(iii) Posts  of  Assistants in other Departments /  Organizations  and  the  Attached  Offices of  the  Government  of  India,  not  participating  in  IFS (B)/ Railway  Board  Secretariat  Service / Central Secretariat  service/ Armed Forces Headquarters Civil Services.

Age Limit : 20-25

COMBINED GRADUATE PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

The Combined Graduate Prelim Examination is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for Selecting Commission for Selecting the Candidates for the main examinations for the following recruitments

• Assistants Grade (Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted) for the groups of service/ Offices like AFHQ CSS, Railway Board, IFS (B) and posts in offices like Research Designs & Standards Organization, Central Vigilance Commission, etc.
• Inspectors of Central Excise, Income Tax, Preventive Officer in Custom Houses, Assistant Enforcement Officers, etc.
• Sub-Inspectors in CBI
• Sub-Inspectors of Police in  Central Police Organizations, (BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP)
• Divisional Accountants/Auditors/Junior Accountants/UDCs, in Various Central Governtment Departments

Age Limit :

• 20 to 27 yrs for Assistant Grade & Sis inCBI
• 18 to 27 yrs for inspectors of CE/IT & Div.Acctts/Auditors/UDCs,etc
• 20 to 25 yrs for Sis in CPOs on the first day of the August of the year of Examination.

INCOME – TAX/ EXCISE INSPECTORS EXAM

The Staff Selection Commission (S.S.C) Conducts this Examination every year for recruitment to the following posts:

1). Inspectors of Central Excise in different Collectorates of Central Excise.

2). Examiner (Ordinary Grade) in Custom House at Mumbai, Calcutta, Goa, Cochin, Chennai and Vishakhapatnam.

3). Preventive Officer (Ordinary Grade) in Custom Houses at Mumbai, Calcutta, Goa, Cochin, Chennai and Vishakhapatnam.

4). Inspector of  Income Tax in different charges of the Commissioner of Income-Tax.

5). Assistant Enforcement Officers in the Directorate of Enforcement (FERA)

The Examination is held once a year, generally in the month of April.
