Chief Minister’s Nava Kerala Post Doctoral Fellowships (CMNPF) 2024

Brief Description:

Chief Minister’s Nava Kerala Post Doctoral Fellowships (CMNPF) 2024 is an opportunity offered by the Kerala State Higher Education Council (KSHEC) and funded by the Government of Kerala, for Ph.D. holders, research scholars, and MD holders in medicine. This program aims to address the state’s innovation and development needs by promoting high-quality research across diverse sectors like social sciences, economics, agriculture, development, and industry. The selected candidates will receive an annual fellowship of up to ₹1,00,000 along with other benefits during the fellowship.

Eligibility:

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be a Ph.D. degree holder, residing in Kerala
  • have submitted the Ph.D. thesis OR
  • be an M.D. (Medicine) degree holder from a recognised university by the appropriate council
  • be aged 45 years as on the last date of application and 35 years in case of a permanent employee/teacher

Note:-

  • Scholars working on Kerala-related research at universities or institutions within Kerala are eligible, even if they are not residents of India or currently residing elsewhere.
  • A relaxation in age will be provided to women and reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/Physically challenged) candidates.

Benefits:

Selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend of ₹50,000 in their first year and ₹1,00,000 in their second year. Additionally, a maximum annual contingency allowance of ₹50,000 will be provided for the Arts and Humanities stream, while the Science and Technology stream will receive a maximum of ₹2,00,000.

In addition to the annual fellowship, post-doctoral fellows will receive a monthly scholarship of ₹50,000.

Note:-

  • The allocated contingency grant will be utilised solely to cover the expenses directly associated with project execution. This may include the procurement of essential materials such as chemicals, glassware, and minor laboratory accessories, as well as any necessary characterisation charges incurred during the research process.
  • The cost of purchasing major equipment like computers and printers cannot be covered by the contingency grant.
  • Travel expenses, including airfare, incurred for attending seminars, conferences, and paper presentations, will be covered by the contingency and other expenses allocation. No separate budget for travel expenses will be provided.
  • Fellows must submit a detailed breakdown of their contingency expenditure, accompanied by supporting justifications and endorsements from their mentor and the Head of the Research Institution.
