Brief Description:

A new scheme has been launched by the Department of Higher Education to provide day-to-day expenses while pursuing professional courses like Medical and Engineering. The main aim of the Central Sector Scheme Of Scholarship is to provide opportunities to financially weak Meritorious students so that they will be able to fulfill their dream by pursuing professional courses. The selection of the student will depend on their education level.

Eligibility Criteria

• 80% of successful candidates in class 12th are eligible to apply under this scheme
• an applicant must be pursuing a regular course such as medical or engineering from a recognized Institute aur college by AICTE, the dental council of India Medical Council of India
• The annual income of the candidate’s family should not exceed more than 8 lakh per annum from all sources.
• Students that are pursuing degree courses through distance for correspondence are not eligible to apply under this scheme

• Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship has been launched by the Department of Higher Education Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India.
• Under the scheme, financial assistance will be provided to meritorious financially weak students of India.
• This financial assistance will help to meet their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher education.
• The main aim of launching the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to a student who is really good at studies
• The scholarship will be provided to the student on the merit basis
• Around 82000 scholarships per annum are awarded for pursuing graduation post-graduation and for professional courses such as Medical and Engineering
• Out of 82000, there are 41000 for boys and 41000 for girls.
• 50%- 50% percent of the scholarships are earmarked for girls and boys
• This scholarship will help in reducing the illiteracy rate in the country.
