Australia Awards Fellowships

Australia Awards Fellowships are towards short-term study and/or training, professional development, networking and work experience, and are delivered by the Australian host organisation in Australia for Fellows from eligible countries in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

A maximum of $35,000 per Fellow is awarded.

The scholarship is aimed at having the students contribute to the long term development needs of australia’s partner countries in line with bilateral and regional agreements.

They provide opportunities for people from developing countries to undertake full time undergraduate or postgraduate study at participating australian universities.

It is also to be noted that part of the scholarship involves having the beneficiary return to their home country to contribute to the development of his/her nation.

Eligibilty:

The participants can only be citizens of specified nations, who are partners with australia in this educational scheme, i.e. Only citizens of partner countries from the middle east, africa, asia and the pacific.

The criterion however, is further toughened by various clauses which inhibit residency in australia. All aspiring graduate and post-graduate students can apply.

Award:

The scholarship covers full tuition fees, return air travel — payment of a single return, economy class airfare, establishment allowance — a once only payment of a$5,000 as a contribution towards as accommodation expenses, text books, study materials and
