Brief Description

The Asia Foundation is a non-profit organization that works towards promoting a peaceful, prosperous, and open Asia. The Foundation’s development programs aim to address critical issues such as governance, law and justice, women’s empowerment, economic development, and the environment. These programs are designed to support local communities and organizations in achieving sustainable and inclusive growth across the region. The Foundation’s approach is grounded in research, partnerships, and innovation, with a focus on empowering local leaders and building capacity at all levels. Through its various initiatives, the Asia Foundation strives to create positive change and improve lives in Asia.

Eligibility Criteria:

The following are the eligibility criteria for the Asia Foundation Development Fellows Program 2024:

 Nationality:

Candidates must be resident nationals or citizens of eligible countries/regions.

Age:

Candidates must be under the age of 40.

Leadership Skills:

Candidates must have demonstrated leadership within their professional fields and the larger community.

 English Proficiency:

Candidates must be conversant in English writing and speaking.

Availability:

Candidates must be available and able to participate in all program components on the specified dates.

 Experience in Different Domains:

Candidates must have relevant experience in governance and law, economic development, women’s empowerment and gender equality, environment and climate action, and regional cooperation.

 Personal Information:

Personal information includes name, contact details, and nationality/citizenship.

Recommendation Letters:

Letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to your professional accomplishments and potential.

Written Submission:

A written submission that describes your relevant experience and achievements in governance and law, economic development, women’s empowerment and gender equality, environment and climate action, or regional cooperation.

Video Submission:

A short video submission that showcases your leadership skills and potential.

Benefits:

Here are the benefits of the Asia Foundation Development Fellowship Program 2024:

1. Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in a leadership development program that lasts for a year in Asia and the United States.
2. Fellows will receive a stipend of 5000 USD to cover their travel, accommodations, and other program-related expenses.
3. The program includes workshops, seminars, and field visits to leading institutions in Asia and the United States.
4. Fellows will be able to network with other emerging leaders from the region and engage with experts in their field.
5. Fully funded opportunity for emerging leaders from Asia to enhance their leadership skills and gain new perspectives on regional and global challenges.
