CALL FOR JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW FOR THE DST-SERB PROJECT

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on the

project sponsored by the Science & Engineering Research Board – Core Research Grant (SERB-

CRG, F.No. CRG/2022/001889) under the supervision of Dr. K V G Chandra Sekhar, Department of
Chemistry, BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad campus. The relevant details of the project are:

Title of the project:

Discovery and Biological Evaluation of Novel Dual Inhibitors of DprE1 and InhA

as Potential Anti-Tubercular Agents

Brief project description:

The project deals with synthesizing various heterocyclic derivatives and

screening the compounds for their InhA, DprE1 inhibition, & anti-TB activity.

Fellowship amount:

₹ 31000 per month + HRA (as applicable) for GATE/NET qualified candidates.

₹ 25000 per month + HRA (as applicable) for non-GATE/NET qualified candidates.

[Fellowship amount may be revised based on the latest DST office

memorandum subject to the approval from the SERB]

Duration:

Three years

Eligibility:

Students with M.Sc. Chemistry / M. Pharm (Medicinal or Pharmaceutical

Chemistry) with a minimum aggregate of 60 % marks can apply.

GATE/NET qualification is desirable but optional. Candidates with prior research

experience in organic synthesis will be given preference.

held online via Google Meet in the first week of October. The interview schedule will be sent to

candidates via email. Only qualified and suitable candidates will be called for the online interview.

Selected candidates may be permitted to register for the PhD program of BITS Pilani subject to fulfilling

the requirements of the PhD qualification process as per the institute norms.
