IPRA was founded in 1965 to advance interdisciplinary research into the conditions of peace, as well as the causes of war and other forms of violence

Dorothy Senesh was a long-time activist for international peace and justice. Her husband Lawrence established this fellowship following her death in 1989.

The Fellowships provide $5,000 per year for two years for both women, for a total of $10,000 each.
