American Express NGen Fellows Program

The Fellows program is a cornerstone of NGen: Moving Nonprofit Leaders from Next to Now, a leadership development initiative that builds the capacity of nonprofit and philanthropic leaders age 40 and under to have significant impact on society’s toughest challenges.

American Express NGen Fellows are a diverse cohort of emerging leaders age 40 and under from Independent Sector member organizations who are selected to participate in a twelve month comprehensive program that develops their capacity to lead in turbulent times, strengthens their professional networks, and elevates their accomplishments on a national level.

Each cohort of Fellows participates in the following program components:

  • Networking and learningat the Independent Sector National Conference and NGen Pre-Conference;
  • In-person workshopsin Washington, DC focusing on group-building and adaptive leadership;
  • Conference callsthroughout the year that build relationships and explore adaptive leadership; and
  • Acollaborative project that highlights issues of concern to next generation leaders and draws on the talents and experiences of the group.
