‘The Akshaya Patra Foundation Social Innovation Fellows’ Programme engages aspiring social entrepreneurs and budding change makers to gain valuable experience with Akshaya Patra, which operates the world’s largest NGO directed mid-day meal programme , serving over 1.4 million children every day.
Through the programme fellows will gain first-hand insights into the social sector and will also learn how to scale up and sustain impact initiatives.
Fellows will be part of an innovation team and be responsible for the design and execution of innovation initiatives across functions.
Some of the key attributes required to be an Akshaya Patra fellow are:
Profile & Work Experience: Students and professionals with a Bachelor’s Degree and less than 5 years of work experience at the time of joining the fellowship are invited to apply
Age & Nationality: Applicants need to be either Indian citizens or of Indian origin. At the time of application, fellows should not be older than 28 years
Commitment: The fellowship is a full-time, paid commitment to work with The Akshaya Patra Foundation in Bengaluru, starting mid – June 2015. Fellows will comply with the full-time staff members’ regulations and will be expected to work stipulated work hours five days a week and on alternate Saturdays, as well as attend training and support sessions as per requirements.
Duration: 1 year
Monetary Support: It is a paid one-year, impact experience programme that gives select individuals from across India the opportunity to create social impact and enhance their leadership potential.
