Vyasakabi Fakirmohan Bhasabruti Scholarship 2023-24, Odisha

Job Description

Vyasakabi Fakirmohan Bhasabruti Scholarship 2023-24, Odisha is an initiative of the Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha, for General/ST/SC/OBC/SEBC/EBC community students of the state. The scheme aims to encourage meritorious students to undertake higher educational pursuits at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the Odia language. The selected candidates will receive a one-time financial grant of ₹20,000.

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be a domicile in Odisha
  • belong to the General/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Scheduled Caste (SC)/Other Backward Classes (OBC)/Socially and Economically Backward Classes (SEBC)/Economically Backward Class (EBC) category

For Undergraduates:

  • be enrolled in UG (Arts) degree with Odia as honours subject  in a recognised degree college/autonomous college or university within Odisha or other states
  • have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in Class 12 examination, conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha

For Postgraduates:

  • have taken admission in M.A. course (Odia) in the state university/degree college or autonomous college of the state or other states
  • have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate at undergraduate level, conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha

Note:- Students pursuing higher education through distance learning or correspondence courses are ineligible for this scholarship.

Benefits

A one-time financial grant of ₹20,000 will be given to the selected students in the following manner:-

  • Students studying UG degree with Odia (Hons.) – 1,200
  • Students studying PG degree in Odia – 300

Document

  • Domicile certificate issued by the competent authority such as Tahasildar or Additional Tahasildar
  • Academic transcripts/marksheets of the last qualifying examinations
  • Aadhaar-linked bank account details of the applicant
  • College/institute ID card (Note:- If unavailable, a Letter of Undertaking authenticated by the concerned educational institution specifying the academic session, course, name, duration, and the student’s roll or registration number may suffice)
  • Additional documents confirming enrolment in a three-year undergraduate degree in Arts with Odia (Honours)
