NSP Financial Assistance for Education of the Wards of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers – Pre-Matric 2023-24

Brief Description:

NSP Financial Assistance for Education of the Wards of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers – Pre-Matric 2023-24 is an initiative for wards of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM workers who are studying in Class 1-10. The scholarship is being offered by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. The main objective of this scheme is to ensure that no child is working in any hazardous sector as labour. Selected students will receive financial assistance of up to INR 2,000 per annum.

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must – 

  • be a student studying in Class 1-10
  • be a child of Beedi, Cine, IOMC, LSDM, or Mica mine worker (Note:- This includes Contract/Gharkhata (Home Based) workers also)
  • have passed the last qualifying examination in the first attempt
  • have taken admission in a recognised institution in India in any course of general or technical education, including medical, engineering and agricultural studies
  • have a total monthly family income below INR 10,000 from all sources, except in the case of cine workers, where the family income should not be more than INR 8,000 per month or INR 1,00,000 per annum

 

Note –

  • The scholars pursuing studies through correspondence are not eligible.
  • The students promoted to the next class are also eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Benefits

The selected students will receive the following benefits – 

Class/Category New scholarship rates per annum (enhanced) w.e.f. AY 2023-24
Both Male/Female 
Class 1 to 4 (for purchase of dress, books etc.) INR 1,000
Class 5  to 8 INR 1,500
Class 9  INR 2,000
Class 10 INR 2,000

 

Note – Students promoted to the next class are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Documents

  • Photo of the applicant
  • Copy of the Identity card of the worker (Form B register number in case of mine workers)
  • Copy of front page of bank passbook or cancelled Cheque (which should contain details of the account holder/beneficiary)
  • Passing certificate/marksheet of the previous academic year
  • Income certificate issued by the revenue authority
How can you apply?

Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the following steps –

Step 1: Click on theApply Now‘ 
Step 2: Click on the ‘Register’ button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to ‘Applicant Corner’and click on ‘New Registration’ tab.
Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox and click on the ‘Continue’ button.
Step 5: Enter mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit.
Step 6: Fill in the required details and click on ‘Save & Register’ to complete the registration process.
Step 7: Now click on the ‘Fresh Application’ tab and log in using the application ID and password.
Step 8: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit the application.

Note – All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.
