With objective of ensuring equal opportunities of higher education in North Eastern region and increasing the Gross Enrollment Ration (GER) a special scholarship for this region named IshanUday was started.

Every year 10000 fresh scholarships are given to students who are enrolled in regular general, professional and technical programmes including medical and para-medical programmes.

Students who are pursuing general degree will get monthly fellowship of Rs. 3500 while students of technical & professional courses will get Rs. 5000 monthly as fellowship. The fund will be transferred via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the beneficiary student.
