Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Hostel Maintenance Allowance Scheme 2023-24

Brief Description:

Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Hostel Maintenance Allowance Scheme 2023-24 is an initiative of the Directorate of Medical Education Research, Government of Maharashtra to provide financial assistance to students pursuing specified medical courses in government-aided/corporation/private un-aided colleges. The selected students will receive a hostel maintenance allowance of up to ₹30,000 per annum.

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must: 

  • be a domicile of Maharashtra
  • have taken admission under the general and SEBC category
  • be a child of Alpabhudharak shetkari/registered labourer
  • have applied for a degree course in one of the following disciplines in a government-aided/corporation/private un-aided college:
    • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
    • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
    • Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
    • Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)
    • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPTH)
    • B.Sc. Nursing
    • Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS)
    • Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics (BPO)
    • Bachelor in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP)
    • Dual-Degree programmes
  • have taken admission in hostels in Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad, Nagpur, or other locations in Maharashtra
  • have an annual income of less than ₹8,00,000

 Benefits

The selected candidates will receive the hostel maintenance allowances as follows: 

Category Students with an annual income of less than ₹1,00,000 (for a duration of 10 months)  Students whose parents are Aplabhudharak Shetkari/registered labourers (for a duration of 10 months)
For students studying in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad ₹3,000 ₹30,000
For other locations in Maharashtra ₹2,000 ₹20,000

  • Domicile certificate
  • HSC and SSC marksheet (for new applicants)
  • Income certificate of the Parents
  • Previous year’s marksheet
  • Affidavit
  • Aadhaar card
  • Father’s PAN card
  • Student’s PAN card (optional)
  • Mother’s PAN card (optional)
  • Registered Labourers/Aplabhudarak Shikari need to submit a proof letter approved from tahsildar/income certificate of Parents
