Description:

Conceptualized in the year 2004 as a philanthropic initiative for the Eastern and North-Eastern parts of India and the neighboring countries, the Tata Medical Center (TMC) started operations in Kolkata on May 16, 2011. The hospital is governed by a charitable trust – Tata Medical Centre Trust. It is an integrated Oncology facility with well-trained professional staff and equipped with modern facilities and the most contemporary medical equipment. The hospital was designed by Cannon Design, a renowned architectural firm from North America. It is located on 13 acres of land at New

The Hospital, with a capacity of 437 beds, serves all sections of the society, with 75% of the infrastructure earmarked for subsidized treatment for the underprivileged sections. It provides a wide spectrum of services from diagnosis and therapy to rehabilitation and palliative support. The Institution’s objective is to excel in service, education and research. Tata Medical Center, Kolkata, has strived to be one of the leading cancer care and research institutions in the country and has benefited West Bengal as well as the adjoining states and
neighboring countries. TMC is also running many academic programmes and has entered into institutional collaborations in education, research, and outreach Programmes in the field of interdisciplinary medical, research and technology.

About the Department:

The selected candidate will join an eminent team of Medical Oncologist at Tata Medical Center. TMC registers more than 17,000 new patients every year. The bulk of the work is in the area of Solid organ cancers, with a highly encouraged scope to work in a site-specific manner, based on
departmental and institutional feasibility. Apart from patient care, the Medical Oncology group is known for robust Multi-disciplinary tumor boards, Institutional and collaborative work in the area of real-world data reviews, and clinical trials, with a scope for participating in and initiating
translational research. There is an active Immuno-Oncology working group in the hospital. The department has started National Board accredited super-specialty training in Medical Oncology from 2019 session with vibrant academic programs. The Medical Oncology department is currently running more than 15 phase 2 & phase 3 clinical trial as well as investigator initiated study. The Department of Medical Oncology is one of the first departments in non-govt. institute to start site specific patient management & clinical research. Consultants and fellows in the department regularly publishing their research & academic activities in indexed national & international journal. The Medical Oncology Dept. is running DrNB course with 4 seats per year. In order to fulfil the above needs, we are looking to appoint proactive clinical consultants
as full-time faculty (Junior/Associate/Senior) who will contribute to the functioning of the department.

Qualification: –

Essential:

a. DM / DNB / Super specialty Degree in Medical Oncology, which is MCI recognized / certified.
b. Should have at least 2-3 years post DM experience, preferably.
c. Eligibility as Junior/ Associate/Senior Consultant will be decided on basis of, year of
specialization, experience, age, as per TMC norms.

Desirable:

a. Age </= 50 yrs. as on 31st December 2023.

Job responsibilities:

Primary Role:

  • Clinical Coverage in Outpatient, Inpatient, Day-care, Emergency, and ICUService, of Adult Patients with Solid Organ Cancers.

•Participation in Multi-disciplinary Boards for the management of Solid Organ Cancers and
related.

•Administrative Responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Hospital administration and
Department Lead.

•Teaching Responsibilities for candidates posted in various fellowship and training
programs and for DrNB Medical Oncology.

•Clinical and translational research, as appropriate, in discussion with the Team.
